2Ring DASHBOARDS & WALLBOARDS (DW) v5.2 has been released, and our public demo environment running on MS Azure has been upgraded too. To request access, please click here.

New Features

  • Restricting access to screen groups for groups of users
    • This is the most important security change. DW is now able to only list Screen Groups that the current user has permissions to see.
  • Restricting access to layouts, sources and calculations for groups of users
    • If a user does not have permission for a certain entity (KPI, Banner, ..), s/he cannot use it in the CONFIGURATION Tool to build a layout, a sequence, or a ticker.
  • Checking access privileges against user groups when serving data
    • If a user tries to access DW via API, the API will also enforce security rules.
  • Sharing screen groups to users without requiring explicit authentication
    • It is now possible to create a Screen Group that does not require users to authenticate and thus provide almost anonymous access (no more need to use the workaround of providing anonymous access via layout preview links). 
    • A screen group can also be referenced via a shortened URL so that it is easier to use on devices with limited keyboard comfort (a smart TV, a smart DVD player, ..)
  • Reclaiming and resetting administrative rights via New DBManager action
    • If a customer messes with the system's security to the extent that s/he cannot manage the system anymore, it is now possible to restore administrative rights to all entities in the system for the administrators.
  • Renaming a source no longer breaks layouts and screen groups
    • Renaming a KPI, banner, or other elements does not break existing layouts that use it.
  • Wrapping external web content by DW Viewer for DESKTOP Client
    • This allows Vimeo videos, a weather app, or other content to run without any workarounds.
  • Adding a new CUCM Connector with

        • Create a grid showing the state of secondary agent extension (not controlled by UCCX/UCCE) including a column for the phone number of the call that the agent is currently on.
