NetFAX v3.1 Adds Support for Service Provider Environments
BRATISLAVA — September 12, 2011 — Today, 2Ring announced the immediate availability of NetFAX version 3.1. This new version of 2Ring’s well-established business fax solution brings enhancements in several fields. Most importantly, NetFAX 3.1 introduces
  1. personal identification of the fax’s sender and receiver
  2. cover page editor
  3. support for multi-tenant environments

The most visible change for the end-user is that NetFAX v3.1 doesn’t only identify the user with a fax number, but now also adds a corresponding identification of the sender/receiver‘s company, and even name and surname if such data is available in the information system. In other words, NetFAX v3.1 introduces automatic identification of a fax sender and receiver in multiple places throughout the web user interface and also on the fax’s cover page, headers and footers. To enhance fax numbers with more personal contact identification, it is necessary to use a 3rd party tool, e.g. “2Ring IPPS Synchronization Module” – this module automatically synchronizes contact data from selected IS, such as MS AD, LDAP, and Microsoft Exchange, and is already used by a vast majority of companies using 2Ring IPPS, or it can be purchased separately for use with NetFAX.

NetFAX v3.1 also adds a web-based cover page editor for the easy creation and customization of a company-wide cover page. Thanks to this editor, the marketing department will have full control of the texts and image positioning on the cover page’s layout for incoming and outgoing faxes. If shared with all users, then they can modify the company-wide cover page for specific use by their department or can even create a cover page for personal use.

Significant improvements are also introduced to the NetFAX administration:
  1. Routing patterns are now assignable to the transmission direction, and thus can be used for nearly any routing scenario
  2. A complete transmission history with full routing log is now ready to help you analyze any complex routing scenarios
  3. The option to create “user entities” was extended to allow administrators to disable and enable tenants/departments/users and then assign routing patterns to appropriate modem lists

To sum up, thanks to added support for multi-tenant environments, NetFAX v3.1 is a business fax solution that is also fully suited for service provider environments.
